Research into Digipaks

It is very clear that Rihanna's Album 'LOUD' followed a clear colour scheme. The front cover simply shows a close up of her. Her make up is very elegant and her lipstick matches the colour of her hair which has initiated the colour scheme of the digipak.

The back of the album cover clearly incorporates the same colour scheme with a light red/pink wash to the photo and the red font. All images within this digipak suggest a light and calming theme which gives us the idea that this album may be relaxing contrasting with Rihanna's usual work. Also included in this back cover is a bar code and text about the copyright and record label which I need to make sure I include when creating mine.
Ed Sheerans digipak shows a clear colour scheme of orange. As Ed Sheeran is a well established artist we are all aware of his ginger hair so this makes the album cover personal to him. His front cover shows a very bold orange wash with an image of Ed himself looking out. I find this album digipak interesting as the front cover has no text on initiating who he is and what the album is called which again is completely doable with him being a well established artist within the industry. His album is infact called + which we can see is the symbol in the bottom right hand corner. Again his back cover is a bold orange block cover with white writing following the colour scheme throughout. I can also see that his digipak also includes the barcode and the text about the copyright and record label.

The Wanted's Digipak shows a clear theme following their album name. The name of their album is 'Battleground' and the image is them standing in an open field with mountains behind. There isn't a clear colour scheme although all of their text is white the whole way through. Again they also use a barcode and text about the copyright of the album and the record label.

After researching different Digipak's I now have plenty of ideas on how I would like mine to look and different themes I can base it on whether it be colour schemes or just matching the name of the album. The main conventions I need to make sure I include is the barcode and the text about the copyright and the record label as this appears on pretty much every Digipak there is.
