Research into briefs

I started my research on looking at the OCR media briefs. I chose three to research into which were the following:

1. A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music     promo video, together with two of the following three options:

• a website homepage for the band
• a digipak for the albums release
• a magazine advertisement for the digipak

2. A Promotion package for a for a new film, to include a trailer,
    together with two of the following three options:

• a website homepage for the film
• a film magazine front cover, featuring a film
• a poster for the film

3. An advertising package for a new product or service, to include two      TV advertisements, together with the following three options:

• a radio advertisement
• a TV programme sponsorship sequence 
• a web pop-up

Film Trailer

Task 5

When watching the trailer back there are a few things I thought we did well and a few things I think we could improve on.

Things we did well:

• Copying the style model trailer to our best efforts
• Using the effects on iMovie to our advantage when editing our trailer
• Completing the trailer despite the limited time and recourses we had

Things we could improve on:

• Suitable Costumes
• Better selection of props
• Using a variety of different but suitable locations to film.
• Rehearsing more
• More time on directing the acting

Filming

Third Task

• Next the actors performed what was shown on the storyboard whilst it was filmed. 
• We had five scenes to film and we chose different locations to film them in. 
• There wasn't a lot of thought that went into planning the locations as there wasn't much time but we settled with the recourses we had and tried our best to perform our version of the trailer.

Second Task

Our next task was to convert our style model trailer 'Lucy' onto a story board, picking out scenes we could create in our version. When picking out the scenes we included the speech underneath each scene that our style model included even though we decided on making ours silent in the end. Unfortunately due to limited time we weren't able to perform all the scenes we hoped to shown on our storyboards attached.

Roles In The Group

First Task

Firstly, our group set off on task to find a suitable trailer to shadow as a style model. Once we had found a suitable trailer it was then time to decide on which role each person in the group would pursue. The trailer we chose was for the film 'Lucy' which involved many different roles. Due to the short time bracket we had we were limited on space, costumes, props etc but everyone had an important role and played it well. We chose which people were going to act, who was in charge of directing, who was in charge of the filming and so on.
